Robert Stevens teaches the history of photography at the School of Visual Arts and the International Center of Photography in New York City. He also moderates a fourth year critique class at the School of Visual Arts. Formerly he was photo editor at Time Magazine for international news during the 1980s and 1990s and into the first years of the 21st century. He has a Masters degree from the prestigious Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester, New York. He is the author and editor of a book of images of Paris made in the 1920s: Yvon’s Paris. He is the secretary of the W. Eugene Smith Memorial Fund for Humanistic Photography.
